Forms on watercolor background

| | ,

Similar to a previous activity you can find here, we created this mixed media work, with shaded forms on a watercolor background. The bright colors make the shaded forms stand out, creating a sense of depth.

First we shaded the forms with a pencil, drawing the value with different kind of chiaroscuro on a worksheet with printed forms.

After that, we traced a line 10 cm high on drawing paper and we painted the upper area with watercolors, creating abstract background.

Subsequently, we cut out the shaded forms and pasted them on the white area below the watercolor painting. We composed the forms like they were leaned on the white surface, drawing the cast shadows as well.
