The experience of life drawing is very important for young students, they learn to observe very carefully any detail of the subject. Copying a texture help the students to draw the abstract appearance of the picture, turning everything to simple elements of art as lines, colors and shapes. The results of this careful observation are amazing!
Every student chose a picture with a texture and copied it in a freehand drawing with colored pencils. I chose a round shape just because a wine company got me a huge box full of thick cardboard disks and I thought to create a panel full of different texture to hang in the art classroom.
