The graphic work of Matisse, the highest representative of the “Fauve” French, offers a variety of beautiful designs made with very few stylized lines, to which we were inspired to run these small prints.
With the students of Year 9 we have been inspired by these designs to engrave a rubbery material called “rubber crepla” and realize the printing plates. The softness of these sheets of rubber allows you to simply engrave with a sharp pencil and applies well to the “softness” of the figures of Matisse, made of simple lines curved and sinuous.
