After designing chairs, table lamps and wall clocks I had the idea of designing a shoe. With my students of 8th Grade I had a lesson about the history and evolution of Design. We have looked at some Andy Warhol’s shoes drawings considering the variety you can create on a simple template.
Students has been inspired by their fondness for a place, an hobby, a sport, an idea, to which dedicate their shoe and they have designed it with pencil, colored pencils and felt-tip pens.
Using the template that you can buy here below, students drew on the worksheet some elements, symbols or objects, adapting the shape, the colors and the decorations of the shoe to what they want to represent. At the end every student gave a title to his shoe, in order to complete and define the inspiring idea.
is this an all girls class?
No, we have mixed classes and the boys had fun as well as the girls. Anyway, in the template you could buy there are also the sneakers. 😉
