Prints inspired by the German Expressionist group “Die Brücke”

| | , , ,

With pupils in Year 9 (classe 3) we made some lovely prints inspired by the German Expressionist group “Die Brücke”. We have carved small plates of Adigraf (a special soft linoleum) with engraving tools and we printed the matrices on paper, with printing inks.
We started with a sketch on paper which was then redesigned over the adigraf and then engraved with various gouges. Printing was done with typographical colours applied with the roller on the matrix, which then was pressed manually on paper. I think these are very expressive faces!
