Ribbons interwoven with a common thread

The exercise of entwined ribbons already experienced in a previous lesson, it is made more complicated! I’ve found this idea on one of my favorite Art Blog of ever Mini Matisse created by my friend Nic Hahn. A colorful ribbon connects multiple drawings in a tangle of white ribbons. The exercise allows experimenting the light and shade and the effect of depth: with shadows put to the right place the image appears three-dimensional, and the black background contributes to the effect.

  1. This is wonderful. Do the students draw the ribbons to connect with others around them intentionally or do you as the teacher draw them?
